About Ella
Ran Bi (Ella) graduated from the Acupuncture College of Manitoba and has worked as a massage therapist in several clinics, gaining extensive hands-on clinical experience.
As a Registered Massage Therapist, Ella has a special interest in therapeutic massage and Traditional Chinese bodywork. She combines deep tissue and relaxation massage with Tuina, acupressure massage, and cupping techniques to help relieve muscle tension and improve overall comfort.
Her treatments often focus on the neck, shoulders, back, hips, and legs, and are tailored to each client’s individual needs, preferred pressure, and areas of concern. She continues to study Tuina, meridians, acupoints, and Traditional Chinese massage techniques and incorporates this knowledge into her practice.
For Ella, massage is more than a physical treatment. It is a form of deep, nonverbal connection that goes beyond language. Through touch, she believes it is possible to understand a person more deeply, connect with their inner experience, and communicate in ways that words sometimes cannot.
Ella has a strong interest in natural science, history, traditional culture, and personal and spiritual growth. She is especially passionate about Traditional Chinese Tuina massage, including cupping and moving cupping techniques. She has developed strong skills in acupressure massage, palpation, and identifying areas of tension and dysfunction through touch.
At the same time, Ella incorporates Swedish massage and relaxation techniques into her treatments. Her work with deeper muscular and fascial tension is also well received by many of her clients.
Ella has always had a strong love of freedom and has explored many different kinds of work throughout her life. These experiences have allowed her to see the world from different perspectives and to find her own ways of contributing to people and society. Among all the paths she has explored, however, massage therapy remains the profession she loves most.
Yoga, Tai Chi, and meditation are also important parts of Ella’s life and personal practice. Similar to the traditional Chinese medicine view of the human being, she believes that the mind and body constantly influence one another. Emotions can contribute to physical discomfort, while changes in the body can also affect the mind and emotional state. Massage, in her view, can be a meaningful way to reconnect the body and mind.
Outside of work, Ella enjoys traveling, food, reading, and history. She is also a collector of National Geographic magazines and has a particular interest in the history of Europe and Asia.
Ella also admits that she is quite lazy and firmly believes that lazy people have helped drive human progress, a philosophy that happens to align rather well with Garfield, the famous character created by Jim Davis.
